Biography
Mary Yang is the Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) at Syxsense, where she oversees the company’s marketing and communications, including shaping the company’s positioning, developing go-to- market strategies, and elevating customer voices to highlight successful approaches to managing and securing their enterprises.
Prior to joining Syxsense, Mary was the CMO at LookingGlass Cyber, a cyber threat intelligence company, where she managed outreach and engagement, including overseeing government affairs as a critical component for the company’s thought leadership and growth.
Before her recent private sector experience, Mary served as the Portfolio Manager for Collaboration and Strategic Growth at The MITRE Corporation for the National Cybersecurity Federally Funded Research and Development Center (NCF), sponsored by the National Institute of Standards & Technology (NIST). In this role, she oversaw and coordinated the NCF’s collaboration and strategic growth initiatives. She also stood up the NCF’s outreach and engagement team; coordinated a robust partners program with vendors, non-profits, and ISACs; and provided project management and market research guidance to multiple cybersecurity projects at NIST’s National Cybersecurity Center of Excellence, including lab-based initiatives for the financial services, retail, energy, and healthcare sectors, and for cross-cutting areas, such as consumer Internet of Things (IoT) and identity. Additionally, Mary provided cybersecurity research and trend insight to MITRE’s corporate cybersecurity strategy office on special initiatives, such as deception, digital identity, and privacy.
Mary has over 20 years of experience in marketing and communications, supporting multiple technology organizations at varying levels of maturity, including a government technology start-up and a publicly traded enterprise resource planning software vendor, across several sectors.
She holds degrees from Mount Holyoke College and the University of Sussex (UK).
